    Special Interests

The area around Livingstone and The Victoria Falls is rich in history amongst many other things. The magnificent Victoria Falls themselves, the world famous bridge which spans the gorges , a hundred year old golf course, a Jewish connection dating back to 1898 as well as many unusual sporting events are but some of the interests available to visitors. Not surprisingly, there is an abundance of bird life including African Finfoot, Schalow’s Turaco (loeurie), African Skimmers and Rock Pratincoles amongst the more sought after by ornithologists and the lodge property supports over 80 species of indigenous trees. Perhaps the most important though is the work the lodge does with the local community and the villages of Sinde and Simonga provide interesting tours for guests who would like to see how the local people live and what benefits they get from being linked to The River Club.
